Privacy Policy
Biehler Tax, PLLC (the "Firm," "we," "us") operates this website at biehlert.shop from its office at 1011 W Lapis Fields Way, Bluffdale, Utah 84065, United States. The website was designed and developed by Biehler T on the Firm's behalf. This Privacy Policy explains what information the site collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Because we are an accounting practice, we treat confidentiality as a professional obligation, not merely a legal one: information you send us is handled under the same desk discipline described elsewhere on this site.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy covers the public website at biehlert.shop — its pages, forms and correspondence channels. Information handled under an executed engagement letter (tax returns, payroll records, audit work papers, bookkeeping files) is additionally governed by that letter and by the professional confidentiality rules applicable to certified public accountants, which are stricter than this policy.
This policy does not cover third-party sites we may link to, or government filing portals (IRS e-file, state tax agencies, payroll providers) you use under your own accounts.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us directly
- Engagement request form: name, email, organization, chosen service tray, tax year or payroll period, stated deadlines, and the free-text file summary you write.
- Email and telephone correspondence: the content of messages and calls, attachments you send, and our replies.
- Engagement materials: where a relationship proceeds, organizer data, source documents, payroll registers and bookkeeping records necessary to perform the engagement.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — standard hosting telemetry retained by our web host.
- Cookie data: this site uses no advertising trackers. Any cookies present are strictly functional (see Section 8).
2.3 What we ask you not to send
Do not submit Social Security numbers, full account numbers, passwords or identity documents through the website form. Those items are exchanged only through the secure channels established after an engagement letter is signed.
3. How We Use Information
- To respond to engagement requests and route your file to the correct tray (CPA/audit, tax, payroll, or bookkeeping).
- To evaluate conflicts of interest before accepting an engagement.
- To prepare engagement letters, fee estimates and calendars of filing deadlines.
- To perform the services engaged — return preparation, payroll processing, billing, bookkeeping, audit support.
- To meet legal and professional obligations: licensing records, workpaper retention, tax authority inquiries, court orders.
- To maintain and secure the website itself.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not send marketing newsletters without a separate request from you.
4. Legal Bases & Professional Duties
We process information because it is necessary to respond to your request, to perform a contract you have asked us to enter, and to comply with legal obligations. As a certified public accounting practice, we are also bound by professional confidentiality standards: client information obtained in a CPA engagement is not disclosed to third parties except as you direct, as the engagement requires, or as law compels. Non-CPA support engagements are held to the same desk standard as a matter of firm policy.
Where federal tax information is involved, additional statutory confidentiality rules apply to return information, and we observe them.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: our web host, email provider and (under engagement) tax and payroll software vendors, each bound to use the data only to serve us.
- At your direction: filings with tax authorities, payroll agencies, or other parties you instruct us to deal with.
- Legal compulsion: subpoenas, court orders, licensing board inquiries — disclosed only to the extent required, with notice to you where the law allows it.
- Practice transfer: if the Firm were merged or sold, successor confidentiality obligations would attach; we would notify affected clients.
6. Retention
Website inquiries are kept for up to 24 months, then destroyed. Engagement workpapers and filed records are retained per the schedules required by professional standards and tax law — generally a minimum of three to seven years depending on record type — after which they are securely destroyed. Backup media expires on the same cycle.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Engagement documents move through access-controlled systems; physical files are kept in locked storage at the Bluffdale office. Access to client files is limited to personnel assigned to the tray handling your matter. No system is impenetrable, but the desk's rule is simple: a file someone doesn't need is a file they can't open.
8. Cookies & Analytics
This site does not run advertising networks, cross-site trackers, or behavioral analytics. If basic functional cookies are present (for example, a load-balancer or security cookie set by the hosting platform), they expire quickly and contain no profile data. We may review aggregate, de-identified server statistics to keep the site healthy.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by contacting nina.zhao@biehlert.shop.
- Deletion rights are limited where retention is required by law or professional standard — we will tell you which rule applies rather than silently refuse.
- You may ask us to stop all non-essential communication at any time; transactional engagement correspondence continues while a file is open.
- Utah and other U.S. state residents may have additional statutory rights; we honor verifiable requests under the law that applies to you.
10. Children's Privacy
This site and the Firm's services are directed to adults and business clients. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn such information has arrived, we delete it.
11. Contact & Changes to This Policy
Privacy questions, access requests and complaints go to the desk:
